SAFETY

Safety First: Our Commitment at
G&R Construction

At G&R Construction, safety is more than a policy - it's a core component in our Plan Better approach that guides every aspect of our work. The construction industry is one of the most hazardous fields, with the potential for accidents, injuries, and even fatalities. We are committed to creating and maintaining the safest possible environment on all our jobsites.

With a record of 0 incidents, safety is a promise we keep to our employees, clients, and communities. At G&R Construction, we are dedicated to bringing visions to life, without compromising on safety.

Key Aspects of our Plan Better Safety Protocol Include:

Comprehensive Safety Training

All our team members undergo extensive safety training to stay informed about the latest industry regulations and best practices. Continuous education ensures that safety awareness remains a top priority. Our training includes:

  • OSHA Compliance: We strictly comply with all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and industry standards, often going beyond compliance to safeguard the health and well-being of everyone involved in our projects.
  • Equipment Operation:
Proper equipment operation is crucial for safety on any  construction site. At G&R Construction, we prioritize thorough training for all our team  members on the safe and proper use of all machinery and tools. From cranes to power  tools, we make sure that everyone knows the correct procedures and safety protocols. By  promoting best practices in equipment operation, we minimize risks and enhance the  overall safety and productivity of our job sites.
  • First Aid & Emergency Response: Accidents can happen, and when they do, being  prepared can make all the difference. That’s why we provide comprehensive first aid and  emergency response training to all our employees. Our team is trained to handle a wide  range of emergency situations, from minor injuries to critical incidents. We also ensure that  our job sites are equipped with fully stocked first aid kits and that emergency procedures  are clearly communicated and regularly reviewed. This proactive approach helps us  respond quickly and effectively, safeguarding the well-being of our team and ensuring  peace of mind for our clients.

Proactive Risk Management

We proactively identify and mitigate potential risks through regular site inspections and safety audits. Our detailed site-specific safety and emergency plans are tailored to address the specific challenges of each project, ensuring a safe working environment from start to finish.

Daily Preconstruction Meetings involve:

  • Discussing Tasks for the Day: We kick off each day by outlining the tasks ahead, ensuring everyone knows their responsibilities and is prepared to tackle the day's work efficiently.
  • Addressing Potential Hazards On-Site: Safety is our top priority, so we identify any potential hazards on-site and discuss how to handle them proactively. This helps us prevent accidents and keep everyone safe.
  • Reviewing How to Eliminate and/or Reduce the Hazards: We go over strategies to eliminate or minimize risks. This might include new safety measures or adjusting the workflow to ensure a safer environment.
  • Checking that Every Person Onsite is Wearing the Proper Protective Equipment (PPE): We make sure everyone is geared up with the correct PPE, such as hard hats, safety glasses, vests, and gloves. This step ensures everyone is protected from potential hazards.
  • Inspecting All Equipment and Machinery to Verify It Is in Good Working Condition: We perform a thorough check of all equipment and machinery to ensure everything is functioning correctly. This helps prevent malfunctions and accidents on the job.
  • Verifying All Team Members Using the Equipment and Machinery Have the Necessary Training and Certifications: It’s essential that everyone using the equipment is properly trained and certified. We confirm that all team members have the necessary qualifications to operate machinery safely and effectively.

Promote a Culture of Safety

At G&R Construction, safety is everyone's responsibility. We foster a culture where every team member is empowered to speak up and take action if they identify a potential hazard. Additionally, we maintain a clean jobsite, free of clutter and debris.

  • Encouraging Communication: We will talk through the plan for your new construction and ensure that all your goals are discussed and completed.
  • Empowerment: We will double-check the plan for your new construction by going through a finalized floor plan, etc. This process phase will be highly detail-oriented, so you know you’re getting what you want.
  • Clean and Organized Sites: Depending on the size of your project, our construction time will vary. This is when we will build your new structure, constantly checking in with you.
  • Final Touches: This part of the process is where painting, fixtures, fittings, furniture, electrical, etc., are completed. You will begin to see your new home or business come to life during this stage.
